新浪科技讯 北京时间12月5日早间消息，Facebook旗下Instagram发布消息称，从本周三开始将会要求所有新用户提供出生日期，平台发送的广告如果与洒类及其它年龄受限的产品有关时，会加强限制，这样做可以更好保护年轻用户。

在此之前，除非是特殊情况，Instagram一般只要求用户13岁，Instagram有10亿用户。Instagram还表示，之所以提出新的要求，并不是因为广告的鼓励。根据Instagram的政策要求，在推送赌博和育儿广告时，只会针对那些年龄较大的用户。
长期以来，Instagram都有自己的一整套原则，比如保持匿名，这使得Instagram和FacebookApp不同，现在Instagram要求用户提供出生日期，这意味着该平台已经放弃了以前的原则。
在接受采访时，Instagram产品主管维沙尔·沙阿(Vishal)说：知道用户的年龄有多大，这对我们的工作很重要，了解后，我们可以根据自己的年龄来创造最合适的体验，不仅如此，信息还能帮助我们遵循长期坚持的原则，把某些内容与年轻人隔离开来。
到底Instagram正在测试哪些与年龄有关的功能呢？沙阿不愿意透露，他只是说年龄可能会成为推荐隐私设置的基础，或者与应用内的线上安全教育联系起来。用户提交的出生日期其它人看不到。
沙阿还说，在未来几周内，Instagram将会提供新功能，如果用户未曾关注某人，可以屏蔽来自此人的消息；对于企业和流行用户（也就是创作者），他们可以限制未成年人观看自己的帖子。
Instagram不会对出生日期进行验证，因为许多时候青少年无法证明自己的年龄，另外，对于一些现有用户，他们不会留下出生日期。Instagram相信当用户提交出生日期时，大多数人会很诚实，未来Instagram会用AI辅助验证。
