7月15日消息，据外媒报道，Facebook预计将于下月在美国推出官方授权的音乐视频，与YouTube展开直接竞争。
同时，Facebook也通知了与各艺人相关联的主页所有者，他们需要在8月1日之前通过一项新的设置将其音乐视频添加到主页，否则，系统届时将会自动为其创建一个视频页面。
Facebook还表示，艺人不必手动上传视频，甚至不必提供链接。只要进行了设置，艺人就会允许Facebook自动向其主页上添加音乐视频，供粉丝在主页的视频标签中浏览。这个标签将包含艺人自己的官方视频，以及他们出镜的其他视频。

进入音乐视频领域相对符合Facebook在视频战略上“模仿YouTube、超越YouTube”的策略。网民原创视频已经成为Facebook的新领域，据统计，其视频播放量已经占到了YouTube的三分之二，而全球14亿用户的庞大基数，将成为Facebook发展网络视频的良好基础。
